About Me:

Hey, I am TY the artist. I was born in Washington, DC raised in Maryland. I've been a creative since I was about 10 years old, spending a good most of my time in the house or out with neighborhood friends.  I would enjoy my time in the room writing crappy love poems about my crushes, making pyramid men out of paper, drawing, or making characters out of cans in my room cutting up hangars for arms and legs and hot gluing them together. I was always quite creative back in elementary, I would be the go-to for bubble letters and doodling just about anything in class.  After, graduating North Point High School, I decided to go in the service as a Firefighter in the Air Force. From there, I had the opportunity to be stationed in Kunsan AFB, South Korea for 2 years which changed my life tremendously. I would roam through any spot I found usually on my own or with some great art buddies I met, visited the Leeum Art Museum (where I saw my first Jean Michel Basquiat painting! :D), The MMCA Seoul, cafes, and etc. I've gained a good sense of my style in Korea shadowing older artists asking for their mentorship and attending figure drawing classes in Seoul. After getting out the service I knew would pursue my ambitions as an Self- taught artist and moved to Austin, TX, currently....
